Smog testing station "failed" my fathers motor home due to the "fact" that it's timing was 96 BTDC??? I do not have service book info for this engine, but something is wacky, I think
Heavy duty applications (trucks & motor homes) usually call for a somewhat retarded initial timing; usually about 8 degrees BTDC down to TDC (zero degrees). This is why they are so gutless and gas hogs. The timing should be the same as a V-8 used
